Brazilian football star Neymar Junior has reportedly agreed in principle to be back with Barcelona. As part of the deal, agreed verbally, Neymar will take a pay cut of € 12 million for moving from Bundesliga club Paris St Germain to Barcelona.

Neymar has reportedly informed the PSG management about his plans. “I do not want to play more for PSG. I want to go back to my house, where I never should have left,” Neymar has reportedly written to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

The star striker, according to reports, will ink a deal with the Spanish La Liga club for €24 million-a-year per annum, taking a € 12 million cut on his PSG annual contract of € 36 million. The salary cut is reportedly agreed to help Barca pay a club record fee to PSG for getting Neymar back.

PSG are yet to sanction the sale of their star striker, who they paid a world record €222 million euros to sign from Barca only two years ago. However, Neymar is believed to have made up his mind to return “home” on a five-year contract on terms proposed by Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

According to media reports, Neymar will also make a public apology to the Barcelona fans for leaving the club unceremoniously.

So desperate has been Neymar to move out of PSG that reports suggest he would have joined Real Madrid had the Barcelona offer not come his way. Real Madrid had made a better offer, but Neymar was more happy to be back home at Barca even at a lesser salary.

The joining will only be formalised after Barcelona and PSG agree on the transfer deal.
