English batsman Alex Hales will replace David Warner in the SunRisers Hyderabad squad for the Indian Premier League 2018.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad have picked Hales as the replacement for Warner.
The opening batsman was bought for his base price of ₹1 crore from the Registered and Available Player Pool list.
The attacking batsman is the only England player till date to score a T20 International century. He is also the top-ranked and the only England player to feature in the top-10 list of the ICC T20I rankings.
SunRisers Hyderabad’s designated captain Warner has been barred from the Indian Premier League Season 11 after he was served a one-year ban by Cricket Australia for his involvement in the pre-planned ball-tampering scandal during the third Test of the Kangaroos ongoing tour of South Africa.
SunRisers Hyderabad had retained Warner in a ₹12.5 crore deal.
The IPL Hyderabad franchisee had on Friday named New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson to replace Warner as the team captain.
SunRisers Hyderabad will host Rajasthan Royals in their first game of the IPL 2018 on Monday, April 9.
